The Playstation is now 6 years in age and it's now safe to say that the console is in its twilight years.

Of course you know everything there is to know about your PS4. There's no way there's any other feature hiding somewhere that could improve your gaming experience immeasurably. Is there?

You might be surprised at how much additions and improvements that Sony has smuggled with their firmware updates, so why not indulge us and check out our list below.

I guarrante, There's at least one top, trick or hidden feature that you aren't aware of.

Not an actual guarantee though.

1) ADJUST YOUR CONTROLLER'S LIGHT BAR BRIGHTNESS

The Dualshock 4 has a Light Bar on its rear. This glowing light is used in various games and by the Playstation Camera, and you can tweak its brightness or turn it off completely if you want to.

Just long press the Playstation button on the controller, go to Sound and Devices, and tweak the brightness settings to whatever you wish. This tip is useful for increasing your controllers battery life.

2) EASY ACCESS TO PS VITA

Own a PS Vita? Your PS4 can easily be connecteed to the Vita. As long as a game user owns both devices, the gamer will be able to play any game that is in their library, of course provided that their system is connected to the proper outlet and a strong Wi-Fi connection. Gamers will only need to turn on the Vita button through the "Add device" tab on the home menu settings.

3) LOGIN WITH FACE RECOGNITION

PS4 users with the camera accessory have the option of logging in with facial recognition. All users need to do is log onto their accounts and access "Settings". From there on, go over the Login Settings and select the Face Recognition option to enable it or turn on with just one click. after that, gamers can immediately log onto their PS4 console by solely using their "game face".

4) TURN OFF POP-UP MESSAGES

What's worse than being bothered by family and friends? Complete strangers who want to know how you are doing or simply want to bug you. This Pop-up messages can be very irritating sometimes.

If you do not feel like talking to anyone, your PS4 can grant you that wish, and it's a piece of cake

Just go to the "Home" menu and select the "Messages" tab. Then go to "Options" then access "Privacy Settings" you will be greeted with three options on whom can message you: anyone, friends only, or no one.

5) VOICE COMMANDS

With the PS4, you can treat you gaming console like a pet of your own. You can tell the PS4 what to do by using the built-in voice command. This feature can be found on the home menu settings. The only down side though is that you need to use the packaged headset that already comes with the console. You can also use the Playstation Camera if you have one.

6) DUALSHOCK 4 GYRO TYPING KEYBOARD

Instead of using the analog or arrow keys to find the right letter, you can use the Gyroscope typing function with the controller, where you'll be able to move your controller around and select the letter on the screen instead.

7) CUSTOMIZE BUTTONS AND SHARE BUTTON

The PS4 is the first out of the entire console systems to have a "button remapping" function where its users can customize their buttons. they can do so by going to "Accesibility" and then the "Button Assignments" through the settings.

Another similar feature is the "Share Button" where a gamer can share a screenshot of something they took. Hitting the share button is the easiest way, rather than going through the "share settings" menu.

8) BACK UP YOUR DATA

Losing all your data can be a scary thing, even in consoles. Imagine losing 1000+ hours of progress.

Thankfully for PS4 users, they will have no problem with backing up their game saves, download, videos, and more all because of the "Saved Data Management". PS4 users now have the option of storing their data on a USB storage device. There is also the option of storing everything on the PSN Cloud, which is the same as iCloud storage on an iPhone.

9) ACHIEVEMENT STATUS

This one is not a hidden feature of the PS4, but what is impressive about this feature are the details that come with a gamer's trophy achievements. To the right side of each trophies is a percentage, letting a game know how oftern or rare it is for this achievement to be fulfilled. It is always a great ego boost knowing that you completed an "Ultra Rare" trophy and know that not many other gamers got it.

10) MAKE IT WORK WHILE SLEEPING

You can tell your PS4 to do a couple of handy things when it's in Rest Mode - namely to charge you controllers and automatically download updates - a handy feature which saves you from waiting ages to play a game while you wait for updates to download.

Go to Settings>Power Saving Settings and go to "Set Features Available in Rest Mode". Select "Supply Power to USB Ports" and "Stay Connected to the Internet", and you're sorted.
