Director Andy Muschietti teased that their version of Flashpoint will get a lot of changes that fans are not expecting for Ezra Miller’s The Flash.
During an interview with That Hashtag Show, Muschietti said that The Flash will be a different version of Flashpoint than you’re expecting. The director also confirmed that he will indeed be working on the upcoming Flash movie for DC in 2020. The Flashpoint storyline in the comics followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber.
The Flash was originally scheduled to be released on 2018 but it didnt push through because Rick Famuyiwa and Warner Bros. parted ways because of creative differences. The delay of the production of The Flash solo film is the commitment of Eza Miller to Warner Bros.' Fantastic Beast 3 which will begin production in Spring of 2020.
The Flash is currently set to premiere in theaters on July 1, 2022.
