"This has been one of the purest joys of my life to play this role and be amongst these people, and amongst all of you," she said during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.
"I am very, very thankful for the experience I've had, in ways I can't even express right now. My heart does not leave, the beauty of this show is that TWD family is forever. The connection between us never ends... It was about my calling in a sense and other things I feel called to and the opportunities I've had. All I'm filled with is a lot of pain about leaving and a lot of gratitude. I love you, and TWD Family is forever."
The tenth season of "The Walking Dead' will premiere at 9PM on October 6.
What do you think of Gurira's departure? will TWD ever fill the hole that Michonne left?
