Michael Rooker's span with the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be over, but the Guardians of the Galaxy star will be joining another massive franchise, as he buckles up to star in the next installment of the Fast & Furious series.
Per a new report by Deadline, Rooker, who plays Yondu Udonta in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set to join the Fast and Furious franchise, taking on a last-minute role in the star-studded action sequel.
Rooker will play a character called "Buddy" in the next installment of the series, though it is unclear how large his part in the film will be, as no other details are available on his role, but he joins an impressive ensemble that already includes the likes of Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and Helen Mirren.
Justin Lin returns to direct Fast & Furious 9 and 10, and will reportedly end following the tenth film.
Fast & Furious 9 is scheduled to race into theaters on May 22, 2020.
