Ever since its release in Early 2017, The Nintendo Switch has won over the hearts of those once skeptical fans of the console and the company itself. After the Wii U's commercial failure, many speculated about the company's future specially against console giants like Sony and Microsoft. However the birth of Nintendo Switch, the first ever hybrid console, capable of transitioning from handheld gaming device to a living room console has revolutionized the way we understand "gaming on the go".

There have been no shortage of amazing games for the Nintendo Switch, and 2019 has been no exception. Today we will list down the games which received great reviews from well respected game critics.

Developer: StudioMDHR

This intense side scrolling action game will make you want to say some pretty bad words, but will also make you laugh with delight. It's beautiful to look at, and with a pitch-perfect soundtrack, it flawlessly captures the era that the developers so clearly revere. Cuphead will remain as a rare, unique game that truly stands out.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Developer: Beenox

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled not only succeeds as a loving and faithful adaptation of the classic PS1 release, but it has been turbo-boosted by a glut of welcome new content including characters, tracks, and modes. Though it occasionally shows its age in course design, and erratically pumps the brakes with a surprising difficulty spike, Nitro-Fueled remains a fast and fun kart racer, sure to please old fans and worthy of a test drive from new ones.

Katana Zero

Developer: Askiisoft

Katana Zero offers a expertly written narrative, entertaining dialogue and exciting and challenging samurai action. Katana Zero is bloody and brutal but also has a very heartfelt tale.

Ape Out

Developer: Gabe Cuzzillo

Beneath the games somewhat simple controls is depth that will have you returning for days after completing the epilogue. It's gorgeous and compulsive. Oh and the "50s inspired jazz records" make the game much more fun to play.

Unravel Two

Developer: Coldwood Interactive

Despite the games oh-so-cute appearance, Unravel 2 has a generous helping of brilliant and tough challenge levels. While its core story might not have the same emotional impact like the original, Unravel two is better in every other aspect. The platforming is more responsive and demanding while puzzles are far more inventive and satisfying to solve.

Developer: Chucklefish

Wargroove is the Advance Wars successor its long-neglected fans have been waiting for. Wargroove is a delight to play, and the possibility of an endless supply of content for it is a tantalizing prospect.

Tetris 99

Developer: Arika

While Tetris 99 may not be a proper battle royale, it instills the same emotions as that of a battle royale game. This is Tetris on steroids, where a good run can turn into a disaster and a bad run can become a surprising comeback.

My Friend Pedro

Developer: Deadtoast Entertainment

It's like John Wick and Deadpool rolled into one (it's what our team always says). My Friend Pedro is all about the action. The fantastical stunts, slow-motion gunplay, and score-attack mechanics all work together to create an action game unlike any you've ever experienced.

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Developer: Square Enix

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is an admirable RPG and an admirable building game which seems in most cases to have gotten the best bits of both of its parent genres. Clunky, overly straightforward combat and unintuitive controls drag it down a little bit, but it still manages to soar above all of the less ambitious Minecraft clones we’ve seen over the years.Even after finishing the main story, expect to still have an itch to explore its excellent environments and make them your own.

Assault Android Cactus

Developer: Witch Beam

Chaotic, packed with variety, polished, and effortlessly charming. Assault Android Cactus is and energizing shooter experience which brings something fresh to the game, from its levels, characters and even enemies.

Cadence of Hyrule

Developer: Brace Yourself Games

Cadence of Hyrule takes inspiration from a popular indie game to create a fun little detour on the path of Nintendo’s beloved Zelda franchise. the game has a rhythm-based combat system that is playful and fun, but also smart and tactical.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Developer: Nintendo

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is an approachable and feature-rich platforming game. Toadette is a welcome addition to the roster for those after a more forgiving way to tackle some of the more challenging levels. This Wii U port remains a highly enjoyable platforming package.

Super Mario Maker 2

Developer: Nintendo

Seriously, what's not to love about Super Mario games? It does everything beter than its predecessor, introducing new ideas, building items, and so much more. With the story mode and dozens of custom-built stages, the Mario series has proven once again that it is worth all the admiration it gets. Think you got what it takes to build a stage worthy of the community? why not give it a try.
